The SPS IPC Drives 2016 tradeshow took place in Nürnberg, Germany, from November 22 to 24. It is the largest international conference and exhibition for electric automation, systems and components.
This year’s show attracted nearly 48,000 visitors, with one-quarter of them from countries outside Germany. These visitors were able to see and evaluate the latest innovations from over 1,600 exhibitors. Over one-third of the exhibitors were from outside Germany.
Many companies whose new product you see presented on World Industrial Reporter exhibited at the SPS Drives show. These are companies who constantly offer innovative automation products to the market.
Many attendees also participated in some of the informative conference presentations held during the show. Conference topics included:
- Control technology
- IPCs and Electric drive systems and components
- Human-machine-interface devices
- Industrial communication
- Industrial software and Interface technology
- Mechanical infrastructure
- Sensor technology
Margherita Balzano, from Motor Power Company s.r.l. (Italy) noted that she has seen an increase in the international appeal of the show in the 10 years that her company has been exhibiting. “Visitor’s level is high and qualified, looking for new technologies for improving their own automation.”
Roland Bent, from Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co. KG (Germany), added, “The compact event duration, the homogenous character of the visitors and the high quality of contacts are the assets of the show.”
The next SPS Drives show will be held in Nürnberg, Germany from November 28-30, 2017.
