Micro-Epsilon announced its optoNCDT 1750LL laser distance sensor designed for high precision distance measurements on metals and rough surfaces.
The oval-shaped light spot of this laser distance sensor makes it possible to compensate for physical interferences and to output stable measurement values.
Using laser triangulation, the sensor can perform measurements on structured surfaces such as sandpaper, grinding wheels, rubber and shiny metals. With a special, cylindrical lens, the laser point is enlarged to a laser line.
Combined with special evaluation algorithms, the laser sensor compensates for interferences caused by structures, depressions and other surface defects. The compact design allows for use in small spaces.
