The 2018 International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS), sponsored by AMT – The Association for Manufacturing Technology, was held in Chicago, USA, from September 10-15. This bi-annual tradeshow covered 1.4 million square feet (122,000 square meters) across several exhibition halls.
This year’s show boasted over 115,000 attendees and the highest number of exhibitors at 2,563, representing 30 countries.
Visitors could experience demonstrations of the newest materials and technologies at the AMT Additive Manufacturing, Etc. booth, and ride in Olli, a self-driving, digitally manufactured, 3D-printed electric vehicle from Local Motors.
The Top Shops booth highlighted profiles of machine shop innovators, focusing on what the best businesses in this sector do to stay competitive.
Connecting thinkers and doers in the manufacturing industry, the Smart Manufacturing Hub featured hourly presentations on the most advanced and innovative solutions available to manufacturers.
The next IMTS show will be held from September 14-19 at McCormick Place, Chicago, USA.
