SIKO introduced its SG61 compact wire-actuated encoder designed for length measuring applications up to 6 m. This compact wire-actuated encoder needs a space of only 70mm x 85mm x 105mm for installation.
The robust aluminum and impact-resistant plastic housing can withstand harsh operating conditions that include dirt, dust and water. The sensor can withstand high shock and vibration loads, and functions in temperatures between -40 and +80°C
For outdoor applications in low temperature ranges, there is also a variant with integrated water drain holes, eliminating damage from freezing water.
The flexible 58 mm flange system provides interface flexibility. Any number of interfaces can be used, including and incremental interface such as HTL or TTL, or an absolute interface such as analog, SSI, CANopen, SEA J1939, CANopen Safety, Fieldbus or Ethernet.
The wire outlet uses Wire-Flex technology that minimizes the wear on the wire, even if it pulls out at an angle. The conical shape of the wire outlet and the various types of wire mean that any deposits on the wire can be removed easily. In addition, mechanical tolerances for the machine or vehicle can be offset automatically, even in harsh ambient conditions.
