TCM Forklift and Nissan have merged to create a new forklifts manufacturing company. The new company, called UniCarriers Corporation, will be operated as a subsidiary of Innovation Network Corp. of Japan (INCJ) — a government-backed company.
Following the merger, UniCarriers Corporation, headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, aims to become the fourth largest global enterprise producing forklifts with a turnover estimated at around $ 2 billion and 5000 employees. Unicarriers’ mission is to become the world’s largest forklift company.
The new company has completed the transfer of all issued shares of TCM Corporation from Hitachi Construction Machinery and all issued shares of Nissan Forklift from Nissan Motor.

Nissan Forklift has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Nissan, producing roughly 30,000 units/year. Hitachi Construction Machinery manufacturers excavators and wheel loaders; the TCM unit is also wholly owned by Hitachi.
